With the white quartzite ridges of the La Cloche Mountains’, the pink granite coast of Georgian Bay, and the sapphire blue lakes set in the Jack Pine hills, Killarney Provincial Park is one of the most iconic places in the Ontario Park system. Whether you want to camp, hike, ski, or do some good old-fashioned nature watching, you will find something here for you.

Get away from the fast pace of life and pitch up your tent on George Lake Campground. From here you can head to beaches, trails, and adventure activities such as canoeing – its perfect for a family trip. During the day why not go on a hike through nature, with so many hiking trails you will not know where to start. The La Cloche-Silhouette Trail is a good one for experienced hikers, for those wanting a leisurely stroll the Chikanishing Trail is for you.

Killarney Provincial Park

When winter hits the region then there are a plethora of activities to do. Cross-country skiing is extremely popular; hit the slopes after fresh snowfall for crisp trails and incredible views. For something a bit different, snowshoeing is great for families and couples. Flip flop your way around some incredible landscapes and take in the fresh air and some exercise. If you do not have snowshoes, they can be easily rented from many different places.

When the snow melts, then jump in for a swim in one of the parks crystal clear lakes – the choice is yours as there are over 50 to choose from! If you prefer to stay relatively dry, then you can stay afloat by canoeing or sea kayaking.
