Some of the most popular destinations which are ideal for a day trip from Barcelona include Montserrat, a stunning monastery and one of Spain’s key religious sites, embedded within the mountains, and home to the famous Black Madonna, well worth a day trip and the guided tour.

Another excellent day trip is to the beautiful coastal destination of Sitges, known for the mansions along the sea front, and a most sought after suburb of Barcelona and known for its restaurants and nightlife.

For more culture, the Dali Theatre Museum. This has the largest collection of Dali paintings in a single location, but this is no surprise as the museum is situated in Salvador Dali´s home town of Figueres.

If you want to see some of the most spectacular mountain scenery, take a day trip to the Pyrenees, and visit mountain villages and enjoy traditional food and drink whilst taking in the clean and fresh air of the region.

Another interesting location to visit is Vallromanes for a day trip, with its own nature reserve and stunning views of the Parc de la Serralada Litoral.  This village is located approximately 25 kms from the centre of Barcelona and can be accessed easily by car or public transport.

The village is mountainous, with many pine and oak forests surrounding the village. The area is quite sought after, with a number of gated communities and the Vallromanes Golf Club, ideal if you are a golf enthusiast.

The beauty of being based in a city such as Barcelona, is the opportunities you have to see something a little different.  With many day trips on offer, whatever takes you interest is sure to be just a short journey away.
