Hotel VOS is a small and cosy country hotel in Þykkvibæ, the oldest rural village in South Iceland. Located on a tranquil, traditional Icelandic farm, the hotel offers a relaxing atmosphere and is surrounded by stunning nature. The hotel is comprised of 18 rooms, all with private bathrooms and free WI-FI. Our rooms are simply furnished, bright and spacious and include flat-screen TVs and comfortable mattresses. Some of our rooms can be accessible upon requests, for customers with mobility needs. Our largest rooms are suitable for families, with three single beds or one double and one single bed. All guests have access to our hot tub, which can be used at any moment.
VOS hotel also offers a daily delicious breakfast, including our very own homemade bread and jams. The restaurant can cater to up to 50 people at once and offers an array of delicious dishes using locally sourced ingredients, including wines specifically paired with the dishes on our menu.
Our guests can enjoy a variety of activities both on-site and in the vicinity, including horse riding and fishing. With the help of a tour operator, get ready to explore the nearby glaciers and ice lagoons or choose to lose yourself in the largely unknown deserted highlands of Þórsmörk, a world away from the crowded tourist hot spots.
And weather-permitting, our guests are honourable spectators to the most stunning, 360-degree views of the Northern Lights, straight from their very own porch- or even better, from inside the hot tub!
