Abu Dhabi, UAE’s largest emirate, is often overlooked for its more famous neighbour Dubai. Venture into Abu Dhabi and you’ll realise it is just a good if not better than Dubai. Indeed, the city is home to several luxury hotels, fine restaurants and of course brilliant attractions. We’ve managed to pick seven that are not to be missed.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Built in 2007, this mosque is one of the largest in the world and can accommodate up to 40,000 visitors and worshippers. The mosque is covered in exquisite Macedonian marble and brings together a range of architectural influences from the Islamic world. The pools outside that reflect the columns are illuminated at night to give a truly unique experience.

Inside you’ll be awed by the 24-carat gold Swarovski crystal chandeliers, there are a total of seven with the largest one ranking third amongst the biggest in the world

Ferrari World

As far as branded theme parks go, Ferrari world is the crème de la crème. A superb day out for thrill seekers and families alike. There are a ton of great rides, the flying aces ride has 52-metre loop, the tallest in the world. For car lovers there are a host of Ferrari cars on display with models dating back over 50 years.

Warner Bros World

If Ferrari world isn’t enough for you then why not head over to Warner Bros World. Opened in 2018 this park is jam packed full of rides, restaurants, shows, attractions and shops. Bedrock and Cartoon junction are perfect for young children with Gotham and Metropolis are home to the thrill rides.

Yas Waterworld

Abu Dhabi is warm and sunny all year round so it is natural you will want to cool off. Well there is no better place for this than Yas waterworld. Located on Yas Island this vast waterpark will keep you entertained for days. Yas waterworld is home to 40 rides, slides and amazing experiences along with a host of fantastic dining options. For thrill seekers the Jebel drop and Liwa loop will more than suffice.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi

One of the most spectacular museums in the world. Located in the Saadiyat island cultural district, the museum is one of the largest in the Middle East and houses a vast collection of artistic and cultural pieces. 

Desert Safari

A great day or overnight trip, desert safari is a truly special experience. The beautiful Liwa oasis awaits or for a spot of dune bashing check out the empty quarter desert. 

Observation Deck at 300

Like the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the observation deck on the 74th floor of the Jumeirah Etihad Towers hotel is spectacular. Known as the observation deck at 300 it offers stunning skyline views and a café.
