There’s nothing quite like the hotel industry in New York. Being such a popular destination, the city’s top hotels have definitely raised the bar when it comes to hospitality. So, finding a place to stay can get overwhelming as there are so many amazing hotels to choose from, from boutique B&Bs to the city’s best luxury accommodation. Here are three to help you get started:

This is not the first time that we’ve mentioned the Library Hotel Collection, as we have recognised it for its excellent service in a past article. The Library Hotel is the New York branch courtesy of the famous international hotel chain, and is strategically located in Midtown Manhattan.

What makes it so different from any other hotel is its unique concept, which uses different academic subjects as its theme. One floor takes inspiration from the social sciences, while another showcases poets from different periods. This makes it a place where bookworms can live out their dreams of sleeping in a library. It even uses the Dewey decimal system to sort its different rooms — a feature you certainly won’t see anywhere else! Every room is filled with literature related to the subject, guaranteeing that you will never get bored. If that’s not enough for you, there are over 6,000 books in the foyer and many more in the hotel’s Reading Room. Your stay also comes with complimentary coffee and snacks.

The Library Hotel is perfect for travellers looking for a much quieter time in a city that often gets rather overwhelming.

Courtyard-Residence Inn Central Park

If you want a bird’s eye view of the city, then Marriott’s Courtyard-Residence Inn Central Park is the place to stay. Back when it opened in 2014, CNN reported that the Marriott’s Courtyard-Residence Inn was the tallest of its kind in all of North America — and it still is. For a city known for being a concrete jungle full of skyscrapers, this is quite a feat. In fact, a feature by Yoreevo points out that between 2010 and 2015, some 13,500 mid- and high-rise buildings were built throughout the city. Marriott’s Courtyard-Residence Inn Central Park towers over them all — its 68-storey building is divided into two sections: the first 378 rooms make up the Courtyard and are located on floors 6-33, while floors 37-65 and its 261 suites make up the Residence Inn.

Frequent travellers will know that professionals at the Marriott International Group are masters at providing luxury, and the Courtyard-Residence Inn is a perfect example of its elegance in dual-branded fashion. There are also free international phone calls and high-tech infrastructure ideal for travelling business professionals.

The Chatwal

The Chatwal is all about fulfilling a desire to connect with Hollywood glamour (even though its in NYC). There’s a rich history behind the hotel, as it used to be exclusive to members of The Lambs. It is America’s oldest theatrical organisation, in which thespians, poets, and songwriters converged.

Although the hotel is open to the public these days, the The Chatwal’s design continues to pay homage to icons from the world of theatre. The art deco hotel has 10 floors and 76 rooms to choose from, with designs from a bygone era executed tastefully. Heavy leather, velvet drapes, and steamer trunks complete the illusion. Don’t pass up the chance to have a drink at The Lambs Club and catch a show at Manhattan’s Theatre District just a few blocks away from the hotel.
